I won't front, my heart kinda skipped a beat when I had seen the announcement email. I am glad to hear from a member of management regarding the status of
the renovations because there have been SO many opinions and rumors during the summer party season about OUR House, Club Shelter. Opening, closing, this
month, that month.... blah blah blah. The only thing I ask, and I'm sure some of the regs will agree with me, is that since the "creators of
Greenhouse" have a say in the operations of the club thru out the week/weekends, please, if you haven't already, let them know that the Club Shelter
parties are not the Chi-Chi fu fu velvet rope meatpacking district type party.
When we come, we come DRESSED TO SWEAT, not to stand around texting on Blackberrys and bumpin gums all night. Not that there is anything wrong with that if that's your thing. We come to have a great time and enjoy great music and dance or just vibe. Most of us probably know by now that a serious amount of money was invested into the renovations and we aren't there to tear the place apart. We didn't do it in the past and I don't see it happening in the future. Please also convey to the new partners that this is not the type of party where there's gonna be fights every weekend with people getting ejected and that kind of B.S. because as most of us know thru our daily grind, poor judgements are unfortunately made about individuals based solely on appearances. I.E. ... don't judge anyone & and there is no need to be on edge expecting something to happen.
If they are worried about "Quality of life" issues, most of the regs & guests pretty much respect the home owners and renters on the side street by staying within the boundaries of the exterior of the club. I haven't seen anyone sitting on stoops and all that kind of stuff. If anyone has to take a draw, they take the heat away from the club so when the marked and unmarked vehicles do their rounds (literally), there won't be any excuses to stress management out because of complaints from the residents on Vandam or patrol "observations". The owners and renters won't be able to say 'there are some people smoking or loitering in front of my building, I think its from that new nightclub on the corner'. We pretty much know what comes after that..... The microscope.
Once again, thank you for the update. Wishing everyone on the front lines the best with the prep work for the re-opening. Wishing Shelter fam and supporters the best. Peace, Love and House.
"House music is a universal languange spoken and understood by all. You see, House is a feeling, that no can understand really unless you're
deep into the vibe of house."
